Her surname, BTW, was Grössinger. She was to have been a speaker in a session that I organized for Leeds last summer (Bodily Functions in Late Medieval Literature and Art).

There are few misericords in Italy and the northwest seems to have most of these. In Aosta, in addition to those at the collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso (but the older designation collegiata [or priorato] di Sant'Orso is still commonly used), there are some in the cathedral. Both sets are of the late fifteenth century. Here's a view of a misericord at Sant'Orso:

In Piedmont, thanks to nineteenth-century medievalism's interest in surviving specimens of the real thing, some may be found in this 1840s neogothic confection, San Vittore at Pollenzo:

where the early sixteenth-century choir stalls came from the abbey of Santa Maria at Staffarda. An English-language account is here:

On these see Guido Gentile, "Ricuperi dall'abbazia di Staffarda: gli stalli corali e il retable fiammingo", in Giuseppe Carità, ed., _Pollenzo. Una città romana per una real villeggiatura romantica_ (Savigliano, 2004), pp. 303-16. and online here:

(NB: the stalls at Staffarda that weren't taken for Pollenzo are in the Musei Civici di Torino).
Best,
John Dillon
