Disability, Discourse and Community Seminar, Friday 12th Dec 08
This seminar will consider 'discourse and community' approaches to disability research and theorisation. The seminar will provide a forum for researchers and activists to discuss, debate and present work that considers, for example, critiques of the able body, policing of the diverse body, critical theories/thinking, histories, community initiatives and research methods. The seminar is informally styled and organised by a friendly network of researchers and activists with an interest in disability studies, discourse and critical theories and community work/studies.
If you would like to submit a paper for presentation that is within the theme of 'Disability, Discourse and Community' please send me an abstract/summary of no more than 200 words by the 1st Dec 08. If you would be interested in attending please email me off list.
