Ah, thanks, Cassandra. I enjoy your humour. You give yourself little
credit for your venturesomeness, but it is quite an impressive life you
live. I do understand the joy of downsizing---as long as I can have the
water view somewhere near, preferably always visible. P'raps, in order to
'practice' living on a boat, I could rent a houseboat for a small stretch of
time and on timid waterways. Have you been to Europe, the UK in particular?
Or anywhere else you'd recommend for a houseboat holiday? BTW, if you've
recently decided to downsize again after living in a very small RV, what
does that have you inhabiting.....a bathtub? <g>
Best,
Judy who has a poem for you in order to make this communique a connect with
poetry. Since I don't know you at all, and am attempting some humour,
please do not be offended at my fictioning:
CASSANDRA CHIC
Tossing bilgey blokes off the deck
one wild paddlewheel party night
she one-crewed a wise new life-map
patted sides of slapping flounder,
close-cruising tugs and salty docks
made songs, life-tales for every star
like her pin-holed skyful of schemes
Cassandra discovered soundwords
like the sea---easy moves and deep
peaceful returns without tracing----
stretching and lapping at boundaries
the size and colours silent-made
she wrote on tablets at tables
with platters of spicy ceviche
