There was a bitter struggle concerning what some would call heresy at
Concordia Seminary
in St. Louis in the early 1970s. The Wikipedia article on "Seminex"
presents one view of
the dispute. The book by Kurt Marquardt presents another. Sorry I
cannot remember its
title.
