I'd be cautious about using figures for feral goats or chamois for this purpose. Standard refs here are Geist and Schaller.

Dear Benjamin,
I have some articles from Brennan, Capurro and Loison that they could be useful for you. I write you some titles:
M. BRENNAN, H. MOLLER and J.P. PARKES. INDICES OF DENSITY OF FERAL GOATS IN A GRASSLAND/
FOREST HABITAT, MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND. New Zealand Journal of Ecology (1993) 17(2): 103-106
Angel F. Capurro, Marino Gatto and Guido Tosi. Delayed and inverse density dependence in a chamois population of the Italian Alps. ECOGRAPHY 20: 37-47.
Please, feel free to contact me and I will send you the articles,
Best regards,
Ana
