Scholarly nit picking is good. I agree that in many areas of research the discussion between objectivism and subjectivism is no longer current, but as you said, it is sometimes necessary to rehearse the arguments anew. My previous post attempted to remind the list of the basic arguments of the constructionist position, as it seemed that some previous posts were disregarding any form of design as research.
In Industrial Design Research, we are also working on ways to establish the position from which we read the world as we find it. It is indeed an interesting question, in particular when the researcher uses a design process as a medium to address a research question. It'd be interesting to see what your area has developed on the topic, can you share links/publications to your 'logic of positions'?
