The Applied Media Chair at Abu Dhabi Women's College will:
• Formulate goals, objectives and priorities in the preparation of
plans and departmental budgets for the effective and efficient
implementation project in the Centre of Excellence
• Confer and establish alliances with industry and the community to
maintain the relevance of College delivery and services
• Supervise the instruction, assessment and evaluation of students in
divisional programs to ensure that students complete the learning
requirements of the curriculum to HCT standards
• Implement the functions and processes associated with the delivery,
monitoring and assessment of programs to the relevant quality
standards
• Network with enterprise, community and the HCT system in the
development, evaluation and review of the curriculum
• Participate in the recruitment of teachers, manages the evaluation,
monitoring and development of faculty and staff
• Assist in the preparation of work experience assignments and
coordinates the supervision of student placements
• Implement effective student management strategies and record systems
to address placement; progression; advising; ethics and conduct
Requirements:
• Masters degree in a relevant field
• Relevant experience at a supervisory level
• Proven academic leadership including the development of programs and
curricula in applied communications
• Experience in the management of staff and students as well as
extensive teaching and learning experience at the post-secondary level
• Professional experience in budget planning and implementation
• Extensive experience in a minimum of one program speciality area
(media, journalism or graphic design) with experience in or working
knowledge of the remaining areas
• Practical working experience in computers and related software and
technology, with specific knowledge in media-related technology
• Overseas cross-cultural experience is an advantage
