Lecturer in Graphic Communication
The University for the Creative Arts has campuses at Canterbury,
Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester and is home to 6,500 students
from over 70 countries studying on courses in fashion, graphics,
design, media, fine art and architecture.
0.4 fte – 14.5 hours per week - Fixed Term Contract
£12,005 - £16,618 pa pro-rata (Ref: FAR LEC 8-132)
We are seeking an experienced multi-discipline Graphic Design
Lecturer/Practitioner to contribute to the delivery of the graphic
design curriculum. Experience of professional graphic design practice
and/or teaching at HE level is a must and a working knowledge of
graphic illustration within a multidiscipline context – through print
media, interactive media, moving image or packaging – would be
desirable.
You will have a good honours degree, relevant professional experience
and a good knowledge of contemporary developments in graphic design
and in the wider media industry. We are particularly interested in
candidates with an established personal research profile or
professional reputation.
You must be able to train students effectively in practical skills,
communicate a broad range of practical and theoretical issues relating
to graphic design, and be able to inspire and motivate students.
Preferably, you should possess some understanding of current
educational issues. It is desirable that you will have experience of
academic and administrative management, be interested in developing
areas of research, and be able to demonstrate sound evidence of your
relevant professional practice.
