Archive & Records Assistant
12 month fixed term contract

We are currently recruiting for an Archive & Record Assistant to work within
the Central Archive of the British Museum on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Central Archive contains the administrative (corporate) records of the
Museum dating back to 1753.
This role would suit a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking to
gain experience prior to undertaking a postgraduate archival qualification.
Ideally you will already have some experience, knowledge or interest in
information management / archives and an understanding of record keeping in
the museums sector or similar institution. The successful candidate will be part
of a small team and will undertake a range of duties covering both archival and
records management issues, including the review of semi-current departmental
records, answering enquiries, cataloguing and undertaking listing and re-
housing projects as required.
