medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
As a minor issue of curiosity, I myself have never seen the Franciscans designated by the letters OM, always OFM (+various reformed suffixes). Could someone tell me when the OM designation was used?

Dear all who responded to this query (ages ago), a very belated thank you (I am just now catching up on overdue e-mail). The question actually arose because I am working with a student who is trying to identify Dominican sermons of Franciscan saints (Francis, but particularly others) and Franciscan sermons of Dominican saints (likewise), between about 1300 and 1350 or so. We were limited to what was in the BN, but I thought that would be plenty and we (he, I oughtn't take the credit for his work) actually came up with very little.
So now, as my belated follow-up, those of you who know of sermons, published or not, that fall into this category, I'd be grateful for the reference. If you do, best to write me at [log in to unmask], as that is my more frequent email address.
