"1160-70" is the Received Dating for the sculpture, i believe, based entirely
on stylistic analysis.
it was removed from wherever it originally was and placed on the spiffy new,
mid-13th c. transept.
badly knocked about in the Revolution, the column figures and all of the heads
are 19th c. replacements during Viollet-le-Duc's massive restoration of the
building.
