Sorry to disagree, but the slasher genre is for me separate from horror, a
sub-genre if you will. I see no connection between these films and the
political context of the 1980s, whereas I see a strong tie between the
political context of the 1950s and 1960s and films such as 'Night of the
Living Dead' and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers.'
