Hello,
I asked a similar question to this a few years back on the mail base and
only got one reply at that time, so I'm trying again as I need to
revisit the same subject for another reason.
Can anyone let me know (privately, and I'll summarise replies
anonymously, or directly via the mail base) if, and how, they go about
merging multiple patient records in their LIMS (we use Clinisys
LabCentre).
When I say HOW I mean..
[1] Do you merge at all?
[2] If you receive patient information feeds from multiple PAS systems
(from different Trusts, etc) does your LIMS have any sort of automatic
merging routine to try and prevent creating multiple patient records in
your LIMS?
[3] What rules do you use to determine if two records are the same?
[4] Who does the merging (named individual(s) or 'anyone')?
[5] Do different departments (Haem, BIO, etc) merge independently or is
there collaboration of some form (thinking about Blood Bank, Cyto &
Histo issues specifically here).
If anyone has an SOP of their procedure that they would be willing to
share then I would very much appreciate a copy.
Many thanks.
With kind regards, Billy.
