Hi All,
We have been requested by our surgeons to provide the beta-trace protein assay for identification of CSF leakage. As I am aware of, beta-2 transferrin is a reliable indicator of CSF leakage. The reason behind this request is that recent publications have shown beta-trace protein to be clinically comparable to beta-2 transferrin in terms of diagnostic sensitivity and specificity, but have the advantage of a fast turn-around time (~24h).
Questions:
Does anyone offer beta-trace protein assay for diagnosis of CSF leakage? If so, what platform/method do you use and what is the cost per test?
Thank you
