medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Precious little has been done on Frankish stuff in Greece. Sharon
Gerstel has, I think, written something about this. Her student, Monika
Hirschbichler has done a couple of things & her bibliographies would be
of help.
Hirschbichler, Monika. 2005a. “The Crusader Paintings in the Frankish
Gate at Nauplia, Greece: A Historical Construct in the Latin
Principality of Morea,” /Gesta /44 #1: 13-30.
______. 2005b. /Monuments of a Syncretic Society: Wall Painting in the
Latin Lordship of Athens, Greece (1204-1311). /Ph. D. Dissertation,
University of Maryland.
I have the diss, but I don't remember how I got it. If you want her
email, write me off-list.
