medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
with apologies, because i remember getting an answer to this question from
someone on this list (John D.?) a few years ago, but there have been
innumerable Senior Moments in the interval, and that Giant Brain Dump last
fall...
i'm transcribing a middlevil text which has those "bearded Es" --Es (upper or
lower case) with a cidilla-- and, of course, there is no WORD font which has
them.
can i just transcribe them as "ae" or (better?) "æ" ?
or do they portend something more (or less) than that?
many thanks.
c
