Communication and collaboration are key elements of the online learning process. Whilst many tools facilitate these activities, using them effectively requires careful design, planning and management.
This practical workshop will enable you to engage learners in collaborative learning through best use of the online environment.

Using communication and collaboration to enhance learning
Online tools including blogs, wikis and podcasts
The role of conferencing in e-learning
Effective techniques for managing online conferences
Moderation and group interaction skills
2. Effective e-Learning with Moodle, 14th May

The Moodle learning environment is becoming increasingly popular in the UK education sector. It is free to use, having been developed through the Open Software model, and is designed using sound pedagogical principles. This workshop introduces Moodle, its main features and demonstrates why Moodle is different from other learning environments.
You will be given access to your own installation of Moodle for 4 weeks after this workshop.

Moodle and the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) market
Communication and collaboration tools

Access to Moodle as an administrator, teacher and student
