medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Today's ODNB Life of the Day is Michael Hicks' biography of Anthony
Woodville [Wydeville], second Earl Rivers (c.1440-1483), magnate. From
our point of view, it is most interesting because of his notable piety,
pilgrimages, learning, patronage of Caxton, etc. I recently came across his
will, which is enough to turn the hearts of even the most ardent fans of
Richard III.
