I thought that now they gave surfactant to neonates there was no longer
any need to do P/S ratios.
The consultant seems to be living in a previous age.

Subject: Phospholipid profile in broncheolar lavage fluid
Dear colleagues
We have just received a broncheolar lavage fluid sample on a 3 year old
with suspected Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis. The respiratory
consultant would like to get the phospholipid/surfactant profile
measured on this sample (taken yesterday, has been refrigerated, approx
40 ml aliquot). I can find nothing on assay finder.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in anticipation.
