medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
In the 1380s, the Dominican William Bottlesham was appointed by Bishop
Wykeham of Winchester as suffragan bishop of Nantes, despite the fact that
there already was a bishop of Nantes. Whether Bottlesham had successors to
his office I don't know, but Bottlesham was considered a legitimate bishop
in England. He participated in the Blackfriars Council in 1381 as a bishop.
