Of course. I had considered using the definite article (both here and in my earlier mention of St. Avitus of Perche) against the possibility that some might not recognize this as a region not a town. But Perche without the article is so familiar in English (at least to medievalists -- one thinks, e.g., of the Stephen of Perche who was ousted from Palermo during the regency of Margaret of Navarre or of the brothers Geoffrey of Perche and Stephen of Perche who participated in the Fourth Crusade) that it seemed unwise to depart from that usage.
