medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if someone might be able to direct me to a source which
would tell me if the early Coptic Chuch, 4th-8th centuries, celebrated
the Feast of the Circumcision or the Octave of Christmas. I understand
that it was in the Gallican Rite and appears in the Byzantine
calendars of the 8th and 9th centuries, and was also known before the
death of St.Isidore in Spain (636). But, I'm unsure what was happening
in Alexandria.
Thanks, any guidance on this would be helpful. Harriet.
