medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Greetings learned ones!
I´m currently using a medieval vernacular translation of Honorius of Autun's Elucidarius,
which I understand was much translated and much read, especially by the laity, in the MA.
I´m wondering if anyone knows of reactions to it - who really did read it, whether the clergy
thought it was a great thing to have the laity reading it (or perhaps condemned such activity).
Has anything been writtin about this?
Meg
