ACB Management Course 2008

Cost: - £650 ACB members, £800 non-members
The week will build on the well established and acclaimed ACB management
courses held in 2003, 2004 and 2006.
• Designed for those preparing for MRCPath and senior laboratory
management.
• Utilising lectures, workshops, discussions, group projects,
debates & presentations.
• Led by senior members of the profession, NHS managers and the
Postgraduate Medical School Department of Health Care Management.
The course will look at the NHS, its changing structure, its finance and
staff groups. It will provide sessions on the psychology of organisation
structures, managing budgets and demand, laboratory organisation,
training, job descriptions, employment legislation, ethics, appraisal and
people management. It will provide training in evidence based medicine and
devote a day to clinical leadership.
