It's a disgrace and another example of how too many people running public
libraries simply have NO idea of the legacy they are responsible for and
what it represents.
No matter, the government likes them raising some cash on the back of
readers, sorry, customers!
Whither our only independent and partial source of unbiased and quality
information..........private companies picking the books, private companies
putting inserts into the books. What next I wonder?

I was reading an article and noticed the following quote: "the public
library always offered a sense of stepping out of one's busy world and into
timeless peace and tranquility"[1] - I like the way the library offers a
perspective, a time to reflect on the big picture, a library value which has
to be of value in itself.
Now we have a "timeless peace and tranquility" with billboard advertising :|
