The Norfolk Record Office is now closed for stocktaking until Saturday, 8 December, although The Archive Centre remains open for advertised public events (see http://archives.norfolk.gov.uk for list of workshops) and for free access to the Norfolk and Transatlantic Slavery exhibition in the Long Gallery.
Duplicate copies of many popular NRO sources on micorfilm, including most pre-1900 parish registers and pre-1858 wills, are available in Norwich city centre at the Norfolk Heritage Centre, Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich NR2 1AW (telephone 01603 774740; e-mail [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>). The Heritage Centre is open from 9 a.m. (10 a.m. on Tuesday) until 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
