Yes, I had that also.
I just installed gcc...
FSL people say that this is not necessairy, but nevertheless this
problem arrived in both of my VMware installations.
Applications (on top left) => Add/Remove Software => Rootpassword =>
search for gcc and install it (there is tonns of gcc variants...) just
take the gcc simple. It will ask you that another one is missing -
just install it too.
I've never had any problems after that.
