On this note for those who are contemplating a SGE install, I can heartily
recommend against a NFS mounted SGE "home" directory
(such as /usr/sge). It may seem like a good idea but there is no rational
reason for it as SGE maintains the local spools and the likes with no
trouble.
Sure you do have to rsync everything from the master after an
upgrade but this is a small cost compared to 100 or so extra NFS
interrupts for your main server every 15 seconds when the clients poll
the job lists.
