You might like to seek out an Orson Welles-directed program for Desilu
Productions in 1956 called "The Fountain of Youth" from a story by John
Collier. Watching it yesterday, I was indeed reminded at one or two
points of LA JETEE when a supposedly still photograph (of a person) in a
general succession of still photographs suddenly became animated. Of
course, Welles had done something similar back in CITIZEN KANE: a
picture-framed group photograph becomes animated. But there it wasn't
embedded in a succession of still-images ...
