Summary

Join an established group of statisticians, working within the Drug 
Discovery Area at Alderley Park.  You will be working to support a range 
of drug projects.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with 
statisticians and scientists to participate in and enhance the drug 
discovery process.  

Job Requirements	

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

.	Provide statistical support, primarily to drug discovery projects.
.	Work with Discovery scientists and statisticians to better 
understand project needs and to assist decision making through the 
appropriate application of statistical thinking, data visualisation and 
analysis.
.	Communicate effectively across a range of disciplines - including 
team working, one-to-one work, presentations and discussions.
.	Contribute to the development of best practice in design, 
visualisation, analysis and interpretation of data, through networking 
with other statisticians and scientists working in this area.
.	Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant areas of statistical 
science. 

Education & Experience	

Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience

.	MSc in statistics.
.	Strong technical skills and the desire to develop these further.
.	Ability to communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians 
both verbally and in writing.
.	Approachable and enjoys interacting with people from a range of 
disciplines.
.	Ability to maintain focus on customer delivery whilst maintaining 
competing priorities.
.	Experience in applying statistical methodology within industry or 
a scientific / bioscience environment.
.	An interest in cancer research would be an advantageSome 
experience of programming within SAS.
.	Experience in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel).

Any essential technical training will be available to the appointed 
candidate.

and appropriate solution.

.	Initiative - Engage in proactive behaviour, seeking and seizing 
opportunities to achieve business objectives.

environment, maintaining enthusiasm and effectiveness, regarding change as 
opportunity for learning and growth.
.	Planning and Organising - schedules and prioritises an appropriate 
course of action, optimising the management of resources whilst 
considering the impact on others.
Delivery Focus - demonstrates focus, initiative and tenacity to achieve 
goals and objectives, using experience and judgement to make decisions and 
overcome barriers.
