medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
The claim of Henry IV that Edmund Crouchback, earl of Lancaster, not
Edward I, was the older son of Henry III is not quite the same, but it
is the closest I can recall until the baby in the warming pan story
about the birth of the son of James II in the 17th century.
Or it is unless you read P. C. Doherty's mysteries. he has one in which
Edward III is a substituted baby, not Edward II's son.
