"The lie" in Cinema
Besides fiction, cinema can host “the lie”. Fiction
imitates; the lie deceives. In some cases cinema uses
its own strategies and resources not simply for
representation but for setting representation in
crisis. We think of Woody Allen’s Zelig and David
Lynch’s Lost Highway , among others. Theirs is also a
program with a positive object. What capacities of
cinema are featured and developed here? “The lie” of
cinema can also nourish and enrich. But how? And what
does it provide?
There is still time to send your proposal for the next issue. Note the new deadline for October 30th.
For other considerations on the theme you can consult the CFP on the website.
