The Isle of Man Government Department of Health & Social Security needs
assistance to develop an implementation framework for the Isle of Man
Disability Discrimination Act 2006. This will include development of
appropriate regulations and codes of practice in consultation with
stakeholders. Can list members make suggestions as to individuals or
organisations which may have both the expertise and capacity to undertake
such a task? It is likely a tendering exercise will take place in due
course. Feedback from list members will allow preliminary scoping
discussions with possible interested parties.
Information: The Isle of Man Disability Discrimination Act can be viewed
at www.gov.im/lib/docs/infocentre/acts/disability.pdf Essentially, the
Act is based on the 1995 UK Act with the exception of employment matters
which are part of other legislation. The Isle of Man is a self governing
Crown Dependency outside the United Kingdom and outside the European
Union. See www.gov.im for general information.
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
