Hi,
a lot of people have reported that they are having trouble running the
FSL package on Ubuntu feisty. So far virtually a problems were due to
the fact that Ubuntu uses dash instead of bash as the default shell.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to track down all of these problems, yet. If you
are tired waiting for me to provide fully functional packages, I suggest
the following workaround:
Every Ubuntu system past edgy should have this:
michael@lucien:~$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-08-19 07:39 /bin/sh -> dash
Change the link to point to 'bash' instead. One can change this by
doing:
cd /bin
sudo rm sh
sudo ln -s bash sh
Now it should look like this.
michael@gandalf:~$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-08-19 07:39 /bin/sh -> bash
According to my tests FSL runs fine with this modification. As the
capabilities of bash are a superset of the dash features, this should
not cause any problems in other parts of the system.
Sorry, for this inconvenience,
Michael
