The Medical University Hanover (MHH) is one of Germany's leading
Medical Schools. The MHH is inviting applications for a Professor in
Medical Biometry and Chair of the Institute of Medical Biometry [see
http://www.mh-hannover.de/biometrie.html]. The post holder will be a
permanent employee of the Medical University Hanover with a salary
according to Bes.Gr. W 3 BBesO (C 4 equivalent).
The successful candidate will work closely with the MHH Clinical
Trials Centre, which is supported by the German Ministry for Science
and Education, and provide consultancy services to the University
Hospital and MHH Institutes. Furthermore, he/she is expected to
develop a programme in statistical research and attract major grant
funding. The post holder will also be responsible for teaching
medical statistics in degree courses offered by the Medical University.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in biometry, biostatistics,
or statistics and will have substantial experience in design,
conduct, and analysis of clinical trials, which he/she has gained
working in an academic clinical trials unit, the pharmaceutical
industry, or a regulatory agency. He/she will be used to work in an
interdisciplinary environment and experienced in communication of
statistical issues. Furthermore, the successful applicant will have a
substantial track record in peer-reviewed publications and successful
grant applications.
