i wholeheartedly agree with gk vanplatter's questions
indeed why don't we discuss:
Why does design education in America at all levels remain product bound?
What are the consequences of this focus?
How many of the huge fuzzy challenges facing the planet can be solved by
creating more human- centered consumer products?
What do we have to teach a new generation of designers (and many design
educators) in order to equip them to engage, operate, and make contributions
beyond the product creation space?
Why don't we recognize the fact that a new generation of designers are
seeking concrete methods to engage the world around them in more meaningful
ways?
Why does design education to a large degree seems to remain significantly
out of sync with this movement that is already well underway?.
(not my questions)
