yes, that's it, but i thought i had seen better details.

the sculpture it self was already among the most ugly and down right boring of
the whole of the m.a., but the recovery of this dreadful polychromy really
puts the icing on the cowpie.

actually i've got this checked out as we speak --the article on the Etampes
portal is of great interest-- but haven't gotten around to reading any of the
others.
the opening "Quand les statues étaient blanches" by Willibald Sauerländer
will surely be worth reading --he has been one of the best scholars working on
Early Gothic sculpture over the last half century and more.
