The original Metrika was not a wonderful piece of kit, but in defence I must point out that the company was taken over by Chirus who reconfigured the whole system and it is now vastly improved.

I recall looking at this device a few years back (including taking it
apart) and am not surprised at the lack of robustness.
However the manufacturer quoted analytical CV's were awful and not
conducive to monitoring changes.
