Dear EBH-ers,
There has been a (small) debate going on about the representation of
evidence for Health Care and Life Sciences in the semantic web on a mailing list, which I have been
involved in.
You can see the mail archive at:
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-semweb-lifesci/2007Jun/0075.html
I thought that some others on the list might be interested in seeing the
debate; the people involved (including myself) are not evidence experts,
and so it is largely about domain experts trying to pin down some ideas
in evidence. Although not really the focus of this list, it does raise questions
about what we consider evidence and how we represent it.
As a background, the Semantic Web is an effort to use machine-readable
data on the web to enable automated understanding of web pages, etc. One
of the applications is in Health Care & Life Sciences, where much of the
data is already available via the web.
Thanks,
Matt
