medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
My grandfather told me that the Penobscots used to bury fish around their
corn
seeds. This I did one year using Yellow Perch I had caught (not good for
eating, too bony). Was this originally some sort of offering?

Very sound sense. Corn needs a lot of nitrogen (from decomposing protein)
to do well.
