Learning Services
Edge Hill University
Almost all universities have now adopted some form of web-based methods for delivering learning and teaching to students. Many academic libraries regard e-learning as having the potential to influence and re-position them within their institution but we are only beginning to address the cultural changes that are required to ensure that innovation and support in learning and teaching shifts from short-term local project to mainstream. This talk will focus upon the two key factors that determine how well a service is placed to embrace e-learning; firstly, implementation of a strategic approach to instituting the necessary organisational and cultural change within a library service and secondly, its sustainability and maintenance.
