Dear Mrs Goddard,
thank you for the phone call.
So here we are not shure about the classification of prognostic studies in 2c.
The subject Iam dealing with is tumor cell displacement in biopsy for breast cancer - a potential harm.
So exceeding the needle track would be a therapeutic measure, maybe influencing the prognosis.
I found only one study which prospectivly analyzed the outcome of patients after exzision of the needle track,
they made a follow up and found one local recurrence.
So I classified this study as outcome study: the population are patients with minimal-invasive biopsy of the breast,
the intervention is surgical excision of the needle track and the outcome parameter ist local recurrence, all.
Unfortunately, none of my collgues of of the collegues from the cochrane center in Freiburg could tell me if I am right.
( all the other studies are very poor case-control studies).
Thank you very much for your answer.
Greetings from sunny Berlin
Monika Nothacker
