The point was made by one correspondent that outside the big cities
people
may be less open about their sexuality and therefore not comfortable
with
separate sections on the shelves. We have already started work on our
catalogue, where we have identified likely materials, and made Gay and
Lesbian search terms. They're on a field which is not visible on the web
catalogue, although it is on staff PCs, but is searchable.
Thanks once again to everyone for all their help - I will pass the info
on
to the relevant colleagues here in Middlesbrough and hope this digest is
useful to others.
