Laura,
The subject of the north transept rose window in Chartres Cathedral is usually identified -- or,
as I mentioned earlier, misidentified -- as the Glorification of the Virgin. See, for example,
Yves Delaporte, Les vitraux de la cathedrale de Chartres. Histoire et description (Chartres,
1926), p. 493ff. I believe Emile Male also identifies it in this way.
