Hello,
We have an open access reservation shelf at our largest library and we're very happy with it. There is the problem that a few patrons don't find their books on the shelf. Most of the time we find those books out in the library, due to either human error or the self-return machine sorting incorrectly. Sometimes we can't find a missing book anywhere, and we suspect that some attractive titles are being taken from the shelf. We find the benefits outweigh the small problem of disappearing books (the affected students might not agree though). We will be moving the reservation shelf closer to the information desk at some point, which should help.

Hi all,
Is anyone using an open access reservation shelf, so that customers can
collect their own holds and issue them using self issue?
I'm thinking about trialing this and wondered had anyone encountered
any problems?
