If you would like to reflect on the issues in designing and developing
online language teaching and at the same time study online learning by
learning that way yourself, then you may be interested in the University
of London Online Education & Training course, which incorporates a special
strand for language teachers.
It deals with general issues of teaching online with regular practical
tasks, and has a choice of optional topics on using the internet to enhance
internet teaching of vocabulary/grammar/reading and writing/listening and
speaking. These are expected to include
• online discourse and moderating
• computer-based assessment
• mobile technologies
• Real-time teaching with CHAT or video-conferencing and whiteboards
• blogging and podcasting
