I would like to draw your attention to a conference that's happening in
Durham in a couple of weeks, that should interest some of you:
Christians in Science - Northern Conference 2007
Big Faith, Big Science Big Issue: Communication
Saturday 10th March 2007,

Speakers:
COLIN RUSSELL is professor emeritus of History of Science, Technology and
Medicine at the Open University and Affiliated Research Scholar at the
University of Cambridge Department of History and Philosophy of Science. He
is the Chair of the conference.
PAUL MARSTON is a senior lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire in
Preston where he teaches courses on Christianity, Science and History and
philosophy of Science. He is also a Free Methodist lay preacher. He talk is
entitled ³Wise as Serpents - Understanding Communication of Truth².
IAN HORE_LACY is an environmental scientist with a longstanding interest in
nuclear energy. He works for both the World Nuclear Association in London
and the Uranium Information Centre in Melbourne, Australia. He will speak on
³Presentation and Misrepresentation: Seeking Integrity in Communication².
RAY MATTHIAS is a communications professional and plant biologist who has
moved from research in plant biotechnology to public relations, media
management, and training. He is a consultant to a number of Research
Councils and government agencies. He is also a reader in the Church of
England. He will speak on ³Truth; a Still Small Voice in a World of Spin².
ANDREW GRIFFITHS works for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
He will speak on ³Openness and Democracy: Dealing with Risk².
