medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Is anything known about the other structure — what buildings in what
town? Could it be an aqueduct?
Just musing —

I'm quite sure the rounded part is a sort of tent. I have an image in
one of my Venetian books of just such a structure over a terrace where
people are eating. I have also seen the same structure on galleys.
You
are on your own for the downstairs. Might the noble(?) for whom the ms
was prepared have built an audience hall which had to be roofed over
with a tent for a while?
