Dear colleague
The Publications Office has published a book caled '25 years of European law online', to mark the
25th anniversary since the launch of CELEX.
The articles in this anniversary book, written by different contributors from in- and outside the
Publications Office (including Grace Hudson writing from the users' perspective), give an overview
of the past, and present reflections on future evolution. Documents on the legal basis of Celex and
EUR-Lex, as well as a chronological overview, complete more personal views.
The analysis of the past services goes far beyond the history of a legal database; it also shows
the slow evolution towards true free-of-charge access to law for everyone.
You can download or order the book from EU Bookshop (I assume that copies will also be sent to
information networks).
