medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
CFP--Mid American Medieval Association
The 31st annual Mid America Medieval Association conference will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The theme of this year's meeting is "Religious Thought, Religious Practices." The keynote speaker will be Dr. Mary Erler, Fordham University, Department of English: "' The Revelation of Purgatory' (1422): Women's Visions and Lancastrian Reform of the Church."
Papers focusing on any aspect of medieval religion are especially encouraged; however, papers submitted for sessions on general topics in medieval studies are also welcome. Saturday night, February 24: The Friends of Chamber Music are sponsoring a performance of the Croatian Vision of Tundal.
Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2 pm: In conjunction with this performance, Dr. Charles Wright, Department of English, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, will speak about "The Irish Go to Hell: Visions of the Next World in Medieval Ireland, from Adomnam to Tundale."
